Kate Petersen is a fiction writer and science writer. Born and raised in Arizona, she has written for a number of biosciences, health care and health policy organizations, and her pharmaceutical and health care writing is archived at PostScript and Health Policy Hub.

Her fiction and non-fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in The Kenyon Review, Crazyhorse, New England Review, Iowa Review, Western Humanities Review, Brevity, The Collagist, The Rumpus, Paris Review Daily and elsewhere.

Kate is completing her MFA from the University of Minnesota, and has been named a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University in fiction in 2013. She is at work on a book of stories, The Goodbye Variations, and a novel called Songs of Travel.
